Terms

This platform is for old students of St. John’s School and the officers of the St. John's Old Boys' Association. Claiming an account means agreeing to what follows.

Your account is yours alone

An account belongs to one old student. Do not share your password or sign in on somebody else’s behalf. If you believe an account was created for you in error, or that somebody else’s details are attached to yours, say so — the platform asks you to confirm who you are the first time you sign in for exactly this reason.

The directory is not a mailing list

Contact details in the members’ directory are shared between old students so that they can reach one another. They are not for marketing, recruitment, canvassing, or bulk export to anywhere else. Do not copy the directory, and do not pass on a contact detail you were given to somebody who was not.

Mentorship

Mentors give their time voluntarily. Mentorship conversations stay on the platform until a mentor chooses otherwise. Either party may end a mentorship, and either may report a conversation to a coordinator. Reports are read by a person, and both parties are told when a conversation has been read.

Dues and standing

Subscriptions are set by the association, not by this platform, and what is recorded here reflects what the association’s officers have verified. A payment is credited once an officer has seen the proof of it. If a record looks wrong, raise it with a finance officer — corrections are made by reversing an entry, never by deleting it.

Behaviour

Speak to other old students as you would at a gathering. Harassment, impersonation and abuse of any member are grounds for the association to suspend an account. Suspension is a decision taken by an officer and recorded, not an automatic one.

Changes

The association may change these terms. Material changes are announced to members through the platform rather than only posted here.
